Marcus Mackay is owner and producer at the Diving Bell Lounge in Glasgow's East End- where the studio is home to him as writer, performer and producer.

For 20 years, in its various locations (including the Highlands, West End and now East End of Glasgow) the Diving Bell Lounge has opened its doors to an impressive and varied client roster including Snow Patrol, Frightened Rabbit, Kathryn Joseph, The Trembling Bells, Ian Archer, Lau, Alasdair Roberts, Joe Foster, The Zephyrs, Holy Mountain.

The Diving Bell Lounge is one of Scotland's longest standing independent recording studio and prides itself in creating a home for emerging and established artists alike. Marcus, aside from his daily role as studio owner has also over the years performed live (keys / percussion / bass) with various acts including Snow Patrol, Reindeer Section, Kathryn Joseph, The Zephyrs , Our Lunar Activities. Marcus' talent and emphasis in production is in eeking out and then capturing the rawness and honesty of a live performance.

As a writer, Marcus likes to use a mix of experimental production techniques to achieve the best results. Seeking the right connections with artists to create new and progressive music using the old and new in equipment and ideas.
